An Approach to Clinical Instructor Development

Abstract
Objective, Methods : An approach to clinical instructor development was suggested for the effective clinical teaching in nursing education through literature riview.

Results :The clinical educator development programme Liras operationalized through the following pro cesses and activities :developing policies, formulation of objectives, identification of resources for continuing development, assessment of the problems, preparation based on step 3 and 4, implementation, re view and evaluation.

Conclusions :Educator development is a process for improved competence involving both individual academic staff and the organization. Nursing school is continuously subjected to change in policies and direction in order to develop the capability of clinical teachers for clinical nursing education. And also the integration of activities of all parts of the educational system would be needed. It is believed that the different types of activities might be regiured to provide the co-operation which lead to improve clinical nursing education.
